CarrThom Development LLC is a design-build general contracting firm serving Washington, DC and the surrounding metropolitan area. This site is the firm’s working ledger: a record of the buildings we have restored, repaired, and raised from the ground up, and a front door for owners planning work of their own. Our practice spans masonry construction, historic façade restoration, structural rehabilitation, commercial renovation, construction management, and residential work — each project delivered under a single contract covering design and construction together, so responsibility for the outcome never splits between parties.

We work for the people who own and steward Washington’s building stock: homeowners caring for rowhouses and historic residences, commercial property owners and building managers, developers, institutions, and the architects and engineers who design alongside us. Our clients are usually working within the constraints of older structures — buildings with history, tight urban sites, and materials that deserve to be matched rather than replaced. When a project involves brick, stone, or a structure that predates modern code, it is the work we know best.

CarrThom Development LLC builds every project it accepts, with masonry and carpentry crews working under our own supervision alongside a small team of project managers, estimators, and field supervisors who stay with a job from first site visit to final walkthrough. Founded in 2004, the firm holds a DC Basic Business License (#410519000219) and Maryland MHIC license (#92578), and carries Certified Business Enterprise certification as an LBE, DBE, and SBE — a status that matters for public and institutional work, and one backed by more than two decades of hands-on construction in the District.
